Green Cathedral

As I tread this path
softly
from my house to yours
tall trees reach
brown boned hands
to the sky
gently arch pale fingertips
together high above
enfolding me
in rustling soft
green prayer.

I will lead you out of gray
to walk this aisle
together
from your house
back to mine.

We will lift our eyes
and be comforted
within this sanctuary
of pure green saints.
